Dubbed the “King of Fossilized Feces” by the Miami Harald – Explorers Club Fellow, George Frandsen, has soiled his reputation to teach the world about coprolites, or fossilized poop. George holds Guinness World Records for the largest collection of coprolites (over 7000 specimens) and the largest coprolite by a carnivorous animal (Barnum, a 26.5 inch T. rex poop).
In 2014, he used his vast collection to start the world’s foremost virtual coprolite resource center called the Poozeum. The site exhibits scientific research, historical discovery information, news, videos, and specimen photos for comparative analysis. George loans specimens from his massive collection to museums around the country, so the public can feast their eyes on real fossilized poop and learn why it’s so special. George hopes that his passion and enthusiasm for coprolites inspires others, especially young people, to immerse themselves in the sciences and prehistoric history.
