Located on historic Route 66 in Williams, Arizona, the Poozeum is the world's only museum dedicated to fossilized poop. This free museum and gift shop combines natural history, science, art, and a touch of carnival sideshow to create a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages.
The Poozeum is home to thousands of authentic coprolites (fossilized poop) from around the world, including specimens from dinosaurs, crocodiles, fish, and other prehistoric animals. Among its most famous exhibits is Barnum, a massive coprolite recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest ever discovered from a carnivorous animal.
Beyond the fossils, visitors will discover colorful hand-painted carnival banners, a giant titanosaur poop replica, and The Stinker, a bronze sculpture depicting a T. rex sitting on a toilet.
Founded in 2014 by fossil collector and explorer George Frandsen, the Poozeum began as an online resource dedicated to the study and appreciation of coprolites. It later evolved into a traveling exhibit, bringing fossilized poop and prehistoric discoveries to audiences beyond the internet. In 2024, the Poozeum opened its permanent museum in Williams, Arizona. Today, its collection holds two Guinness World Records and attracts visitors from around the world.
While the subject matter may inspire a few laughs, coprolites provide valuable scientific insights into the diets, behaviors, and environments of prehistoric animals.
